Mom Dance Group (formerly known as the Hope Chinese School Mom Dancing Group) was founded in the spring of 2000 under the leadership of Ms. Xiaoqin Zheng, a renowned Chinese dance choreographer and instructor in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The Group was established to enrich members’ social lives while fostering friendship and sharing their passion for dance.

Mrs. Xiaoqin Zheng brings over twenty years of experience in choreography and dance education. For more than a decade, she has taught in the Washington metropolitan area, including at the Yellow River Youth Art School and the Hope Chinese School Dance Studio. Each year, she creates several original works, presenting them on stage at a wide range of cultural and community events.

Specializing in both Chinese folk dance and modern dance, Mrs. Zheng is guided by her belief that folk dance—rooted in the lives of the people—should be shared with and appreciated by all. Her choreography for Chinese students is distinctive, blending elements of both Chinese and American culture and celebrating their identity as Chinese Americans. Audiences consistently find her works vibrant, inspiring, and deeply engaging.
